Photo Flash: First Look at Riverdale Rising Stars' THE WEDDING SINGER

The year is 1985, and the place is New Jersey: hair is big, greed is good, collars are popped, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. The award-winning teens of Riverdale Rising Stars present THE WEDDING SINGER, the Broadway musical based on the hit movie of the same, for six performances only, now through December 20, 2015 at the Riverdale YM-YWHA, located at 5625 Arlington Avenue (just off of Riverdale Avenue and West 256th Street), in Riverdale, Bronx, NY. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast onstage below!

Rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

A cast of 30 teenage performers from Riverdale, Yonkers, Upper Manhattan and beyond perform in THE WEDDING SINGER, which is directed Riverdale Rising Stars Artistic Director Laurie Walton, with choreography by Emily Walton andmusic direction by Kelly Erin Martin. The design team includes Tony Wan (Set Building), David Pentz (Lighting), Penelope Margeotes (Costumes), and Denise Eberly (Sound Design).

Featuring music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and book by Beguilin and Tim Herlihy, THE WEDDING SINGER received five Tony Award nominations, including "Best Musical." Sklar and Beguelin also wrote the score for the Broadway musical Elf, and Beguelin wrote book and additional lyrics for the current Broadway production of Aladdin. THE WEDDING SINGER is based on the 1998 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

Photographer Tracks Runaway Couple After Perfect Proposal Pic

Intimate moments, such as impromptu marriage proposals, rarely get immortalized in picturesque photos. One north Texas couple hit the jackpot, however, when photographer Mike Mezeul II captured their put-a-ring-on-it moment at the Fort Worth Japanese Garden this Wednesday. Mezuel, who was using the picturesque location for a photo shoot, happened to come upon the couple on a bridge, as the groom-to-be knelt before his future bride. Seizing the moment, Mezuel snapped a photograph that is pure magic — green shrubbery, a charming wooden bridge, fiery fall hues in the trees and reflected in the river beneath, and one twosome enjoying a magical moment together.

It was the definitive "picture perfect" setup and Mezuel was eager to share the photo with the newly engaged couple. Alas, it wasn't going to be that easy...

"I thought: What a beautiful scene. So I rattled off a few frames," Mezeul told Dallas-Fort Worth's NBC station. "I then had to get back to taking the [family's] portraits and never crossed paths with the newly engaged couple after that."

Mezuel shared the picture on Facebook with the caption, "The couple ran off before I could get over to them to share the photo. So, if you happen to know a friend who got engaged yesterday here, have them shoot me a message! Feel free to share if you'd like."

"When I got home, I took a peek at them and realized just how happy they were and that's when I decided to post online to see if I could track them down so they can have the images to remember their moment," Mezeul continued. "All I've done so far to try to track them down is post on social media, as I know it's an extremely powerful resource."

After 198 shares and 2,593 likes, Mezuel connected with the couple. One commenter suggested the couple should hire Mezuel to take photos at their wedding. If he could capture such a candid moment, imagine what their wedding album would look like.

Even if the couple doesn't hire Mezuel, they now have an engagement photo for the record books.

Photographer accused of not delivering photos speaks out

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The wedding photographers accused of not delivering paid for photos spoke out Friday.

Ethan and Malarie Young only have amateur photos of their wedding because the photographers hired to capture the event never delivered.

One of those photographers, Jacob Cantrell, reached out to 14NEWS Friday.

He says he's trying to gain access to the photos for the Youngs. He also claims he is not responsible because he was not the primary photographer, Corinth French was.

This afternoon, photographer Corinth French contacted us. She claims she mailed the Young's a flash drive just Thursday.

Meanwhile, a number of other brides and moms of newborns have come forward claiming they also paid for photos they never received.

If the Young's don't get that flash drive French promised, the next step is likely court.

Just this morning, an attorney told 14NEWS he'll represent the Youngs pro bono. And another wedding photographer and a makeup artist have offered to recreate their wedding pictures for free.

Evansville newlyweds' photographer never delivers

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Some Evansville newlyweds are out a couple thousand dollars and only have amateur photos to show from their wedding after their photographer never delivered.

The bride, Malarie Young, reached out to 14 NEWS to help her track down photographers Jacob Cantrell and Corinth French.

"You try to call the phone number, nobody answers. There's no voicemail. You send a message to the business page, and never get a response," said Malarie.

And Malarie says she's since met other brides who've been waiting longer than she has for their own wedding pictures.

We searched past addresses for Cantrell, but never found him. We found French at a rental home in Evansville and knocked on the door. She answered but when we started asking questions about the Young wedding pictures, the door was promptly shut.

The big question is, what should you do if this happens to you?

If you can find the photographer, experts say send a certified letter clearly stating what you want.

Next stop, small claims court. It costs less than $100 to file suit in Vanderburgh County, you don't need an attorney, and resolution happens pretty quickly.

You can also post ratings reviews on sites like YELP or at the Better Business Bureau.

As for the Youngs, they can see one picture of their wedding, but they have to go to Corinth French Photography's Facebook page to see it. And to top it all off, this photographer is still taking clients.

The Youngs could take the photographers to court, but even that can't bring their special day back.

A perfect Island wedding â€¦ at the Ritz?

Local designer and carpenter exchange vows at the Oak Bluffs bar.

Over the years the Ritz in Oak Bluffs has been many things to many people: a beloved watering hole for locals to catch an afterwork drink, a stage for bands to perform and promote their music, and recently a go-to spot for foodies looking for a good deal on great food — courtesy of the bar's newest chef, Ben DeForest of Red Cat Kitchen. Last week the Ritz became yet another destination: a wedding venue.

On Friday, Dec. 4, manager of Chicken Alley Thrift Shop Noavakay "Noava" Wibel Knight of Vineyard Haven and her painter and carpenter fiancé Stanislav "Standa" Harag of Litvínov, Czech Republic, were married at the bar and grill, in front of 200 friends, family members, and other bar patrons surprised to be in the presence of a wedding. In the span of only four days, the couple planned the very Vineyard affair, thanks in part to a number of friends, local resources, and the power of social media.

So just how did they transform the renowned dive bar into an appropriate place to exchange their vows? The space just up from the bar, where you'd often find bands performing or a pool table in use, was split in two by several rows of benches, occupied by guests of the couple. At the front of the room, a rustic white screen was placed, adorned with fabric and lights, provided by Ritz owners Jacqueline and Larkin Stallings. In front of the screen stood officiant Seth Gambino, owner of La Choza Burritos in Vineyard Haven, clad in jeans, Converse sneakers, and a newsboy cap. Beside him, the groom — in a v-neck T shirt and jacket — held the couple's beloved Pomeranian terrier, Providence. Nearby, Kyleen Keenan of Not Your Sugar Mamas passed out sachets of lavender to guests.

Shortly after 9 pm, the bride entered the door at the front of the room, steps from Circuit Avenue, after being dropped off by a Hummer driven by Bubu Luncar of I'll Be There Painting, in Vineyard Haven. Guests rose to greet her as she walked the aisle in a long white gown with a high neck and a low back, which the bride herself had made from an Amish tablecloth she found at the thrift shop and previously created for a Martha's Vineyard Fashion Week event. On her head sat a custom crystal tiara made for the occasion by Jessica Kramer of Hawkhouse jewelry designs, who offered her services to the bride via Facebook. In her hands she held a vintage-inspired bouquet of anemones and snapdragons provided by Morrice Florist, a wedding gift courtesy of Ms. Knight's boss, Sandy Pratt.

In a short ceremony, the couple exchanged vows and rings, to a room full of cheers and applause. Shortly after, the benches were cleared from the room and the newlyweds socialized with their guests, while musicians Tristan Israel and Paul Thurlow performed a previously planned set, and business as usual resumed at the Ritz.

"It was perfect, simple. I never really imagined what my wedding would be like, so in that way it was even more than I imagined," said Ms. Knight in a phone interview with the Times. The couple chose to make it official at the Ritz, a spot special to the two, who first started dating there on St. Patrick's Day in 2011. Ms. Knight has also worked with the bar on various events over the years, including the annual Odd Ball party, which benefits Martha's Vineyard Community Services.

Why the hurry? "We were looking at buying a home, and my mom said that she would sell us hers if we were married. So we decided and posted our plans on Instagram and Facebook," said Ms. Knight. While sitting at the Ritz having lunch the previous Monday, they decided on the location after discussing potential last-minute wedding venues, which also included the town hall, the beach, or possibly a wooded site. The social media posts grabbed the attention of many friends and colleagues, who helped the couple pull off the event in four short days.

In addition to providing the space, the Ritz offered up the apartment upstairs from the bar as a bridal suite for Ms. Knight to get ready, and the bar's "Tiny Baker," Erica McCarron, constructed a small cake for the couple. Ms. Knight and Mr. Harag's nuptials marked the first wedding at the Ritz under the new ownership of the Stallings, who were happy to be part of the event. "Larkin and I were so thrilled to be a part of this special couple's day. Noava does so much for our Island community, and it was lovely to have the opportunity to do something for her. Larkin enjoyed it so much, I'm sure he'll try to convince our recently engaged daughter, Jordan, and her fiancé, Will, to rethink their Island venue!" said Mrs. Stallings.

Despite the short notice, Ms. Knight's sister, Dawn Breeze of New York, was able to make the ceremony, as well as Mr. Harag's cousin, also named Standa, who happened to be in town visiting from the Czech Republic. Most guests heard about it on Facebook or through word of mouth among friends. Ms. Knight is grateful for those who were able to make it, and is OK with the fact that everyone wasn't there. "We let it be our day and for us, and if it didn't work around everyone else's schedule, that's OK. We still love everyone."

Ms. Knight credits the short notice with the success of the event — no wild expectations allowed for minimal stress, plus it was cost-effective: "We had the cheapest wedding ever. I recommend doing it in four days for anyone. I can't imagine planning it for two years. It's anticlimatic. I've done a lot of events. You put a lot of energy into it, and then it's over and nothing has changed. For us, it was really, really great to do it really quick. We didn't have to worry about it."

Ms. Stallings of the Ritz echoed her sentiments. "Only having four days to plan turned out to be all the time we needed. Everyone who we called on to help jumped at the chance to be a part of our first Ritz wedding. As I took pictures, I marveled at how everyone in the room had a big smile on their face as they witnessed the happy couple exchange their vows. Noava and Standa, the gathering of our community, and the genuine spirit of the evening, left the Ritz with a special little glow that, I think, will last a very long time."

Next, the couple will focus on renovating the Vineyard Haven home they purchased from her mother, the same house Ms. Knight grew up in. Currently renting in West Tisbury, they plan to move into the home this winter, which they'll share with Ms. Knight's mother, Leslie Wibel. "We'll do renovations piece by piece. My dad did a lot of weird renovations to it over the years. My family had five kids. We slept everywhere; it's a funky little house. We'll rework it to make it ours." Once the renovations are complete, they hope to have the groom's family visit in the spring from the Czech Republic.

As for honeymoon plans, the couple will try to get in a trip in February, "to someplace warm, depends on the cheapest airfare," Ms. Knight said with a chuckle.

As the happy couple lean in for a kiss, it has all the hallmarks of a wedding photoshoot; immaculately-styled hair, doe-eyed expressions and a warmth that only a longstanding relationship can convey.

Yet wedding photographer Katie Byram's carefully-choreographed photographs are a tad unusual, for the bride is nowhere to be seen.

In what could be the ultimate celebration of bromance, the set of professional images show groom John Taylor, from Stockton-on-Tees in the North East, and his best man Andy Pemberton, 39, from Middlesborough, in a variety of adoring poses ahead of Taylor's wedding to Lisa Pendlington.

'Would you look at that?' The pre-wedding morning continues with fluffy robes and more magazine reading

Spooning in bed wearing just their underwear, cosied up reading magazines in fluffy dressing gowns and side-by-side in matching roll-top baths, the friends, who met in 2003, are clearly very much in like with each other.

The unique shoot, which took place in the Hotel du Vin in Newcastle, came about after groom John Taylor, who married his bride Lisa on September 25th this year, decided to capture the friendship between himself and his best man, former X Factor contestant Andy, on film.

The 20-minute shoot was directed entirely by the pair right down to them standing next to a 'Mr and Mr' sign wearing their wedding attire next to an ornate fireplace.

Wedding photographer Katie Byram, 27, from Newcastle said the trio were left 'roaring with laughter' at the cheeky photoshoot which preceded the late summer wedding at the As You Like It Bar in the Jesmond area of the city.

Photographer Byram said while she often takes 'getting ready photographs', she's never done a nything this unusual before.

She told Femail: 'John told me that he wanted some comedy in the photos of him getting ready at the hotel. What I didn't realise is that he'd spent most of the morning plotting!'

Katie said that when she arrived at the hotel, she was met with the sight of John in his dressing gown.

'He opened the door and said: "Hello Katie, I've been expecting you" with a really mischievous grin on his face. The next thing I knew he'd jumped on the bed with Andy and they were in the spooning position.'

The couple, who live in Stockton-on-Tees have seen their wedding photos splashed across social media

John added his version of events: 'The whole morning was a laugh. W e had shared the room so we could be together in the morning ready to smarten ourselves up.

'Ended up waking up around 6am and walking along the quayside to find coffee... Got back to the room and instead of doing anything productive we just sat about discussing how much stupidity we thought Katie would take! Plenty it would seem!'

Katie says she's amazed by how far her images have now travelled with radio stations in New Zealand getting in touch to cover the story.

Pemberton is more than used to the spotlight, he was once part of Journey South, which came third on the X Factor in 2005.

So, what does Lisa make of seemingly sharing her man? She told Femail: 'I think the pictures are hilarious, John and Andy have been friends for years and the pics really show that they don't take things too seriously. We were really amazed that the pics have gone s o viral!'

She adds that it was important to the couple that their special day was remembered in a unique way. 'We really didn't want boring posed wedding photos so that's why we chose Katie as our photographer.

'She captured their friendship and our whole wedding brilliantly.'

Check out this Hong Kong-based couple's Bollywood themed wedding photo shoot at Taj Mahal

Who doesn't want a quirky wedding photoshoot at the Taj Mahal? A couple based out of Hong Kong, Timothee and his blogger wife Yukiko, decided that they would celebrate their wedding anniversary with a fantastic destination photoshoot.

Wedding photographer Lakshya Chawla and his team, who are known for candid photography and putting together wedding stories, met the couple in Agra for the photoshoot.

"They were extremely fascinated by Bollywood, and we specially took a few Bollywood-inspired shots for them," he said to Huffington Post.

The bride wore a gorgeous red and white coloured sheer sari, paired with matching jewellery—a pair of jhumkas and a maang tikka, and flowers to complete her look. The groom, matching his outfit with his wife, wore a beige and red sherwani completed with classic punjabi joothis.
