While some Chinese tourists visit Paris as part of 6,400-strong tour groups, other visitors come for more traditional reasons, like taking the perfect pre-wedding pictures.
The number of Chinese tourists visiting France has soared to 1.7 million last year, compared to just 420,000 in 2006, and Reuters reports that at the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame or on the bridges along the river Seine, lines of Chinese couples waiting to snap some romantic shots for their wedding have become a common sight.
Couples confess to being drawn in (at least partly) by the city's romantic allure. "It's very famous for being a romantic city and we can do shopping at the same time," one future groom told Reuters.
According to French government figures, each Chinese visitor to France spends 1,000 euros on average purely on shopping alone.
We gotta say that if you can afford it Paris seems like a much better place to get wedding picture done than some crowded and rocky beach in Qingdao. For those on a budget, replica towns are always an option.
Still, it's awfully hard to top this Tibetan couple's wedding pictures.
