Chinese couple pays 190,000 yen for superbly ugly pre-wedding photo shoot in Japan

If money can't buy happiness, then one would hope it could at least buy a decent photo shoot in Japan.

But alas! One unhappy couple has been roasted online by netizens after their failed photo shoot was put up on social media. The couple were apparently quite attracted to the photographer's style and decided to fly to Japan to have a beautiful pre-wedding photo shoot among nature, only for the returned photos to be, well...just damn awful. Especially considering the 190,000 yen ($1,659) price tag, NetEase reports.

While one usually blames the photographer, Chinese netizens haven't been so kind to the couple themselves:

"My phone could take better photos than this, but the way the couple looks... that's the bigger problem," one netizen wrote.

Another commenter was slightly more forgiving, through not any less harsh:

"They may not be good-looking, but it's the photographer's job to make them look that way, he's obviously terrible."

And of course, the final blow:

"If the people are ugly what can you do?"

There really is no mercy on the internet.

Fortunately, the couple have reached a consensus with the photographer and have agreed to try their luck with another shoot, so good luck to them and their wallets.

China's lucrative pre-wedding photo shoot industry is increasingly migrating overseas, with many couples choosing destinations likeParis, London, Tokyo or Phuket Island, rather than the crowded shores of Qingdao.

If you're planning on doing this kind of thing make sure to have a good photographer lined up, or a very fat wallet just in case.
