Arrow is notorious for doing anything and everything to get fans off their scent, and everyone from the cast to the EP's are always in on it! Well, there is no exception to today's HUGE Arrow reveal, thanks to Stephen Amell and Arrow EP, Marc Guggenheim. The two posted a very spoiler-y photo of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his true love, Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett), all dressed in white and exchanging vows! YES! The photo is real, BUT is the wedding? Marc and Stephen simultaneously posted the photo with cryptic messages that basically said nothing and sent Olicity fans into a full on Twitter meltdown!
Olicity fans be spiraling like....
Here's a closer look...
That is a pretty dang huge spoiler for Arrow's lead actor and EP to just openly post on Twitter... So, hey, WHAT IS THE CATCH? There, obviously, has to be one. The show's stars and creator wouldn't ruin one of the most anticipated moments in the shows entire existence without a plan behind it...so let's dig in to the three, most likely, scenarios.
1. It's a dream
Marc and Stephen are playing it off as if it's real, but really it's a dream sequence. The thing is, in the grave flashback, Felicity's ring finger is pointedly bare, so something isn't right. Perhaps when Felicity is getting her new spinal implant put in and under anesthesia, she dreams of what life can now be like. With her standing, in a wedding gown, marrying the love of her life. Then the audience is blindsided as she wakes up from surgery, no wedding. Just the sad reality of the lie Oliver told her to keep his son safe, and keep her out. Or maybe it's Oliver's dream, after Felicity give s him her ring back when she discovers the truth about his son. Darhk's plan worked, he successfully separated Oliver from everyone he loves, and Olicity fans will only have this photo and dream sequence to remember the good 'ol days.
2. A secret, but real, wedding
Oliver and Felicity do as planned and have a quick, spur of the moment wedding. Felicity understands why Oliver lied about his son, forgives him, and joins him on his road to saving William. They are married without an audience, where no one can find them. Once it's done, Felicity takes off her ring, and puts it somewhere safe. Oliver and Felicity play that they've broken up, for good, and Felicity falls off of Darhk's radar. With Darhk no longer seeing Felicity as a tool to get to Oliver, Oliver doesn't have to worry about her safety, and can focus on saving his son. When Oliver can finally defeat Dahrk, Felicity and Oliver can share the good news, and be together in the light. The show has made it cle ar they make their own rules, comics aside, so, hey, it could happen!
3. The wedding is after the grave flashback, when all is well
This, unfortunately, is the most unlikely scenario. Darhk is defeated, Felicity has forgiven Oliver, William is safe, and Felicity's implant worked, and she can walk again. Now, the two lovebirds can finally say I Do. It's that simple, and we get the sunset ending we got last year, but with a ring on it. I'm not betting on this one, though, with a major death in the group, I could see Oliver and Felicity eloping (which the photo suggests a bit) as to not disrupt everyone's mourning. What makes you want to not waste another moment not being married to your true love? Losing someone close to you. So hey, ya never know.
Also, sidenote, Oliver asks Felicity if she's OK first, heavily suggesting the person in the grave is someone Felicity is closer to than him. My call? Mama Smoak.
yes, I'm a Celtics fanNo matter how this ph oto ends up playing out on the show, it's a huge spoiler regardless, especially for the cast and creators to post! The photo was released purposefully, and with a detailed gameplan that I'm dying to know! We've learned the hard way that while many things on Arrow do play out as you expected them to, it's the things that don't that keep the show alive and kick-ass!
