Mark Condon can tell what sort of person you are by looking at your photography kit.

"If you have a lot of zoom lenses, you're perhaps a little more shy. If you use primes like the 24mm which is very popular at the moment, you're probably a bit more of a confident person."

The wedding photographer, who two years ago founded ShotKit, a website that reveals the kits of photographers and interviews them about their work, looks at the kits of enthusiast and professional photographers everyday. His website features the kits of photojournalists, wedding photographers, sports photographers, and even photographers who have only one thing in their kit: a smartphone.

"The gear element is integral to photography. While it's not the camera that takes the photo, but the photographer, most photographers are interested in camera gear. I love to know what my favourite photographers use!" Condon said.

"I've noticed that often photographers kits come full circle. When you start out, you're working with a minimal kit. Then you begin to collect new lenses and extra gear. But when you become very experienced, you tend to return to a minimal kit.

"More gear is sometimes a hindrance – to be able to thing creatively sometimes you have to limit your options."

For the chance to showcase your kit on ShotKit, submit your kit here.

Since founding the website, Condon has published two books. ShotKit is offering a 10% discount for Clique members and readers to buy either of his books: The Shotkit Book or Lightroom Power User. To do so, enter the coupon code at checkout: clique2016.
