In the days leading up to Prince William and Princess Kate's fifth anniversary, we're looking back at five of their sweetest-ever photos together. Today, the two are all smiles during the carriage ride from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace. It was the wedding of the century – and for good reason!
On April 29, 2011, Prince William and Princess Kate tied the knot at London's Westminster Abbey. And practically the whole world was in on the celebration: Nearly 2000 guests watched from within the church (the number of people who attended the two receptions that followed was considerably smaller), while millions more watched at home. William wore his formal military garb, but it was all eyes on Kate in a custom dress designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.

While the couple's engagement only lasted just over five months, the wedding was a long time coming : The couple had been dating for almost eight years before they said "I do."
While the best-remembered image from Will and Kate's wedding is typically their kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, it's hard not to love the above photo, with the couple smiling at each other as they drive through the streets of London.

Will and Kate had a day full of celebration after their wedding ceremony – including a first dance performed by Ellie Goulding – but were unable to head off on their honeymoon for another ten days due to William's commitments as a search and rescue pilot for the Royal Air Force. On May 9, they departed for ten days in the Seychelles.
And we're sure it was a trip well worth the wait – just like the wedding itself!
