For any outdoors enthusiast, the California landscape is something to behold. Wine country in particular proves to be a gorgeous setting for hiking, sightseeing, photography, and . . . weddings! POPSUGAR Fashion editor Hannah Weil McKinley tied the knot at the McKinley private estate in Glen Ellen, CA — and the resulting pictures are seriously stunning.
"Like any bride, I wanted something beautiful — but not something we couldn't just totally live in and really experience," she said. "By that I mean that the feeling was more important than the aesthetic. While I love to look back at gorgeous pictures of the flowers and the tablescapes, I love most the pictures of everyone on the dance floor, outdoors in the vineyard, and laughing during the ceremony. The whole day was filled with love — and my heart is bursting every time I revisit the photos."
Wedding planner Alicia K and her team brought the amazing details to life, Hannah says.
"Our very personal 'locks of love' for guests to sign [was] modeled after the locks that Thomas and I had signed together on our first trip to Paris, [which we] hung on the Pont des Arts bridge," she said. "And Gia did an incredible job of capturing it all. Our personalities came through in all parts of the design — probably because my husband was also totally involved in the planning process. I love that the end result felt like both of us and that getting married at my in-laws' family home made it that much more personal."
See all the lovely photos ahead!
