METAIRIE, La. -- After news surfaced of an unexplained, hopefully temporary, closure of a local bridal boutique, nearly a dozen local ladies started offering up their wedding dresses for the brides who were left in limbo.

Within minutes of posting the story on Facebook, Ashley Juno Larsen commented on the story.

"Not that it makes up for the dresses paid for but I'd be happy to donate my dress to anyone in need," Larsen said. "Sorry girls don't let this ruin your big day!"

Other brides quickly chimed in, offering up their dresses too.

"I'm willing to do the same with my wedding dress," Whitney Hamm DiPietro said.

Rachel Smelser said she would gladly give her wedding dress. "It screams 1990s," she said. Smelser was married in 1998 and said the dress has puffed sleeves and a huge bow on the backside. "Definitely needs some work, lol." Smelser said. "I actually purchased my gown as well as my bridesmaids at Linda Lee."

Candi Meridith offered up her wedding dress and a handful of bridesmaid dresses that have never been worn.

"I actually have a wedding dress and five or seven bridesmaids dresses," Meridith said. "If your wedding is this weekend, you can message me. Maybe they will work for you - never worn."

As of Thursday, it remains unclear what will happen with the brides and their wedding parties who have ordered dresses or have dresses inside the location, but the outpouring of support is surely welcomed during this period of unknown.
