Invision Photo Festival: Zoom in on photography in Bethlehem

For the seventh year, ArtsQuest and Olympus have organized a weekend of workshops, exhibits, talks and parties that connect world-class photographers with local professionals and amateurs.

The InVision Photo Festival, Friday through Sunday at the ArtsQuest Center and Banana Factory in Bethlehem, is headlined by George Kalinsky, who has photographed hundreds of stars over the past half-century as resident photographer for Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall, and acclaimed wet plate photographer Ian Ruhter. Works by both will be on display. Kalinsky will talk at 1 p.m. Saturday at the ArtsQuest Center and Ruhter will talk during First Friday at 7 p.m. at the Banana Factory.

The InVision Photo Party, featuring the Pints and Pics Happy Hour, is 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday at the ArtsQuest Center. You can check out Olympus camera equipment, while visiting stations to take photos of skateboarders, dancers, fire spinners, food, concerts and more.

The festival kicks off InVision Photography Month, featuring exhibits at 20 Lehigh Valley venues.

Some festival events are free. More info: bananafactory.org.
