Louis Tomlinson has been involved in an altercation with paparazzi at a Los Angeles airport, which led to him being placed under citizen's arrest.
TMZ has reported that the One Direction star and his girlfriend were being hounded by photographers at LAX when things got heated.
Details of the incident are still speculation at the moment, but information from the LA county sheriff's department confirms that Louis was subject to a citizen's arrest at 11:45pm local time on Friday evening (March 3). He has now been released.

Martin Singer, Louis's lawyer, has issued a statement that reads: "The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis.
"It's not the first time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity. While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defence."
Following this altercation, Louis has been released but is set to appear in court later this month (March 29).
It's also believed that a photographer was arrested following the incident.
Digital Spy has reached out to representatives of the singer for further comment and will update when more information becomes available.
