Picture Of Mum Breastfeeding At A Wedding Goes Viral

This image of a mum breastfeeding her son at a wedding has sparked a debate [Photo: Instagram/dahs]

Dressed in an emerald green, floor-skimming satin dress with her hair swept back in a wet-look chignon, Haddas Ancliffe looks every inch the stylish wedding guest as she poses for a picture. But the blogger wasn't the only one making an appearance in the snapshot, as the new mum was also joined by her 18-month-old son, who she was b reastfeeding at the time.

'Just me and my baby having a drink (Gotta do what you gotta do, wedding or not)' the 21-year-old blogger, who goes by the name Dahsi, wrote captioning the Instagram shot with the hashtag #normalizingbreastfeeding.

Since posting the candid snap has been liked 2,619 times and received over two hundred comments many praising the mum for highlighting the normality of breastfeeding.

'It's so nice to see you put your baby's needs before your own,' one follower wrote.

'Keep on doing what you do and be strong. Let's normalise breastfeeding and make people realise how wonderful it is,' added another

But while many comments came down on the positive side of the morality fence, some criticised the mum for 'over-sharing.'

'It's cool you're breastfeeding but don't need to show it to the world,' wrote one

'Haha why post this on instagram. Do this in private,' one man wrote

Another felt even more aggrieved by the shot writing that the photo made them feel 'ill'.

Others stepped into defend Ancliffe's choice to share the image: 'How can people not been ok with this but ok with a girl in a skimpy thong bikini or less.'

It's not the first time the blogger has shared pictures of her breastfeeding son Jonah [Photos: Instagram/dahs]

Claiming she uses her blog as a platform for 'self expression and open sharing', this isn't the first time Ancliffe has shared photos of herself breastfeeding her son Jonah in a bid to breakdown breastfeeding in public stigmas.

And she's also used the photo sharing site it to tackle body issues, inspiring other mothers by sharing unedited photos of her post-baby body. Alongside a picture of her stomach the honest mum wrote:

'So this is my tummy nearly 11 months postpartum. It's covered in stretch marks, has a little sag and is nowhere near as flat as it used to be.

The new mum has also shared unedited pictures of her post-baby body to inspire other mums [Photo: Instagram/dahs]

'Today I'm going back to the gym for the first time since having Jonah. There's so much pressure in our society for mothers to "get their bodies back" and you feel a constant shame if you're not working out to do that, but I can honestly say I am not ever going to try to get my body back.

'I will workout to be stronger but not to change how I look. My body did the most incredible thing a human body could do and it should only ever be loved and appreciated for it. I am beautiful, screw what mainstream society says, I'm sexy too!'

Seems like this blogger is ta ckling parenting taboos one Instagram post at a time.

Going to the chapel ... or the Ferris wheel ... or the dude ranch: Vegas offers bargain weddings your way

    Midwest Features

This is a leap year, so it is officially fine for women to propose marriage on Feb. 29. Maybe the nuptials should be unconventional, too.

The average U.S. wedding costs $26,444 without the honeymoon, concludes costofwedding.com, whose researchers say 40 percent of couples spend less than $10,000 and 16 percent spend more than $30,000.

Las Vegas wedding chapels court couples for a lot less. Although business is down almost 40 percent since 2004, about 300 weddings happen per day at an estimated 50 chapels. That doesn't count commitment ceremonies or marriage vow renewals.

These declarations of everlasting love happen on helicopters and roller coasters, between rock formations at quiet Red Rock Canyon, in open-top buses that cruise The Strip as a celebrity impersonator officiates.

When Joni Moss-Graham says "anything goes," she's not overstating it. After operating a Vegas wedding chapel for nine years, Moss-Graham opened the Las Vegas Wedding Connection, to help couples wade through the options or follow a fantasy.

She usually hears from a bride one or two months before the chosen wedding day, then meets in person on the day before the ceremony. In between, she assists with the setting, tone and logistics. A $500 rental of a $6,000 wedding gown is not as uncommon as a Catholic ceremony because Moss-Graham knows of only one priest who leaves his parish to conduct a wedding.

A ceremony downtown on Fremont Street might end with a round of ziplining. At Bonnie Springs Ranch is a little chapel in a Wild West setting that offers horseback riding afterward.

Nude and nearly-nude weddings are possible, says Moss-Graham, who arranged one in conjunction with the Exotic Heritage Museum. Above the Harley Davidson Cafe is Chopper Chapel, popular with motorcyclists. Alexis Park Resort Hotel, which has no casino, books weddings on its rooftop terrace, garden gazebo — or the privacy of your suite, "so the ceremony can be as strange as you want," Moss-Graham says, with a shrug.

"Cemeteries, parking garages … everybody has their choice for a reason," she observes. Her average client spends $1,500 or less when tying the knot.

Simply putting a couple into a limousine and driving to iconic Vegas locations for wedding photography is popular. "For most people, this is the first time they're in a limo," the wedding planner explains.

A ceremony can happen in a pod big enough for 40 people — "unless a bar is added" —on the High Roller, the world's tallest Ferris wheel. One rotation takes 36 minutes.

Some couples want to dress as "Star Wars" characters, or zombies. Halloween is a popular wedding time. So are crazy dates, like 10/10/10.

Chapel of Flowers — on Las Vegas Boulevard, known as "chapel row" — opened in 1965 and has 12 wedding planners on staff. "We're the iconic place to say 'I do'," says Diane Ferraro, marketing rep. "We don't consider ourselves a wedding factory."

A ceremony in one of three chapels lasts 10 of the 60 minutes that a couple is booked on the property. Staff devote another hour, on average, to plan event details. Cost starts at $350, which includes the ceremony, photos, a single-rose bouquet and boutonniere, but no limo ride.

Themed weddings are a specialty at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, where owner Ron DeCar is the officiant. The retired casino show entertainer can pop out of a casket as vampires fly from ceiling hooks, but he's more often an Elvis imitator who belts out long-ago hits as the bride is delivered in a 1964 pink Cadillac.

"I got a jumpsuit, and it became my life," he says. Now DeCar also owns an event center for wedding receptions and, in lieu of that, cabaret shows.

Least expensive at Viva Las Vegas is the $260 Hound Dog wedding ceremony, which includes one song. "People want to do something fun, especially the second or third time around," the wedding host says.

    Doing the paperwork

Clark County Courthouse in Las Vegas issues marriage licenses from 8 a.m. to midnight daily, including holidays. License cost is $77, and you'll both need photo identification. There is no blood test or waiting period. clarkcountynv.gov, 702-671-0600

What if you seal the deal and regret it? Don't expect the wedding officiant to simply not file the paperwork. That is required, or a fine is issued.

BTW: An annulment isn't as much of a bargain. Expect at least $300 in court costs, plus attorney fees.

    Vegas guide

El Rancho Vegas, the first major casino resort on what would become the Las Vegas Strip, opened 75 years ago. Fire destroyed it in 1960, one year after the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign was erected.

Now a mind-boggling number of casinos, shows and other attractions exist, and "The Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas, 2016" by Bob Sehlinger ($20, Keen Communications) ranks and rates much of what awaits travelers. That includes Abriya Raku (a Japanese restaurant) to "Zumanity" (a Cirque du Soleil show), but don't expect the skinny on those wedding chapels. The book fills out nicely without dwelling on them.

For the official word on Las Vegas tourism, consult lasvegas.com or 877-847-4858.

Gisele Bundchen Thanks 'My Love' Tom Brady on Seventh Wedding Anniversary: Photo

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen Credit: Rabbani and Solimene Photography/Getty Images

Cheers to the Bradys! Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are celebrating their seventh wedding anniversary. The supermodel gushed over their latest milestone via Instagram on Friday, February 26.

"Happy 7 anniversary my love!" Bundchen, 35, captioned a photo of the couple's hands. "Thank you for always being by my side. I love you!"

    PHOTOS: Celebrities Dating Athletes

In the pic, Bundchen and the New England Patriots quarterback, 38, wear their gold wedding bands, which they exchanged at a ceremony in 2009.

The couple dated three years before marrying and are the parents of son Benjamin, 6, and daughter Vivian, 3. Brady also has an 8-year-old son John with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

    PHOTOS: Celebs Who Love Models

Bundchen opened up about her romance with the athlete — and the bumps they've endured over the years — during an interview with CBS This Morning back in November. The sit-down took place three months after Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Bundchen had threatened divorce amid his Deflategate scandal.

"I think we've been through a few tough times together," she told host Charlie Rose. "I think that's when you know who are your friends and who loves you. My father always said the quality of your life depends on the quality of your relationships, and I think, no matter how challenging it was, we've always been supportive of one another. I think that's the most important thing you can have in life, you know? A support system and love."

Weeks later, Brady posted a sweet photo of Bundchen decorating their Christmas tree and called her "the love of my life."

One Couple's Mountaintop Wedding in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

After four years of dating, Moses Taylor knew that Ali Smith, who he met at Colorado College, was the One. In July of 2014, he asked Ali to join him on a hike at Rabbit Ears Pass in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and when the pair reached the summit, he popped the question. So when they started planning their August 15, 2015, wedding, it seemed only natural to return to the mountain town they love to tie the knot. So they planned a mountaintop reception followed by a reception 9,080 feet above sea level.

With stunning Steamboat and the Rocky Mountains as the backdrop for their big day, Ali and Moses knew they wanted the wedding to be casual yet elegant with a romantic mountain theme. "The view from the top of the mountain is unbeatable and we wanted to share this special place and its natural beauty with our guests," Ali says. So, with 210 guests in tow, the couple rode the gondola to the very top of the mountain — seriously! — and exchanged vows while taking in near panoramic-views of the surrounding mountains. Keep reading to see all of the breathtaking photos that Andy Barnhart Photography captured throughout the day.

The bride, a graphic designer by trade, created the couple's wedding invitations. Their gray and white suite featured a mountain motif, which she carried over into other elements used during the day, including labels for bottles of beer that Moses brewed for the couple's welcome bags.

Ali wanted a wedding dress that felt different and unique, and she found just what she was looking for in the second dress she tired on: an embroidered silk charmeuse Claire Pettibone gown. "It was so me," she says. "My mom agreed. I just stopped looking after that because I knew the more dresses I tried on the more confused I would get." The bride admits she cried when she purchased the stunning style, but not out of joy. "I didn't cry because I was so happy, but because I spent so much money! That being said, it was worth it. I felt like a million bucks in that dress."

Looking back, she has no regrets about the figure-flattering gown. She accessorized with vintage white cowboy boots, her sister's sapphire ring and matching drop earrings, and a bracelet her mother made out of pearls and charms from jewelry that had belonged to both of the bride's grandmothers. Her bouquet was the perfect fit for the natural terrain around their ceremony and reception. The semi-cascading arrangement was packed with succulents, butterfly bush sprigs, eucalyptus, and garden roses.

Moses wore a blue three-piece suit and a boutonniere of ranunculus and evergreen springs.

"My bridesmaids wore different dresses in neutral shades like champagne, blush, light tan, and some had gold accents," Ali says. "They chose their own dresses based on the colors I gave them." Their bouquets were similar to the bride's, but on a smaller scale and with a somewhat more wild shape.

The groomsmen wore three-piece gray suits, which they paired with ties the couple had custom made by the Knotty Tie in Denver. "They were custom made to match the bridesmaids' dresses," Ali says.

Ali and Moses had smaller attendants, too. Their two junior bridesmaids wore white dresses while their flower girl donned a tiered blush dress. The couple's bulldog, Zeus, served as the ring bearer and walked down the aisle in a bowtie. While he was an adorable addition to the wedding, Zeus was not the most cooperative ring bearer. "He ate all of the petals that our flower girl dropped as he walked behind her down the aisle," the bride says.

The only way to the ceremony site was by riding the gondola to the mountain's summit, where the bride and groom exchanged vows on the Thunderhead Lodge. Ali wasn't afraid of taking on DIY projects for her big day. For their ceremony, she created a vintage-inspired sign to welcome their guests to the wedding.

"My dad built our ceremony arch out of birch trees that came from Wisconsin, where I'm originally from," Ali says of their décor. "We decorated it with a spray of flowers." The couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves, and further personalized the ceremony by selecting music that spoke to their relationship.

The bride walked down the aisle with her mother and father as musicians performed Iron and Wine's "Flightless Bird," and the couple recessed to Dave Matthews Band's "Ants Marching." "We spent a lot of time working on our ceremony to give it a personal feel," the bride says. "We wanted all of our guests to understand our past and why were getting married. We broke all the 'rules' that didn't have significance to us."

The couple's reception was held in the nearby Champagne Powder room, where guests were treated to stunning views of the Yampa Valley below. Tables were decorated with white linens and textural arrangements, including roses, forget me not, and greenery. "We picked local and seasonal foliage and grasses, which were draped onto the table," Ali says. "We also had uprooted succulents, figs and kiwi fruits."

Ali and Moses served a gluten-free dinner, which included locally sourced meat dishes like lamb, steak, and chicken served with seasonal roasted vegetables, risotto cakes, and polenta. Guests also sipped a selection of drinks, along with the couple's signature cocktails. Ali picked a spicy margarita while Moses went for a classic old fashioned.

The bride and groom shared their first dance to Ray LaMontagne's "You Are the Best Thing." "We took four dance lessons and were both so nervous," Ali admits, "but we got right up there and crushed it!"

For dessert, everyone enjoyed a gluten-free vanilla wedding cake, as well an assortment of cupcakes in tasty flavors like salted caramel, chocolate peanut butter, chai latte, and raspberry cream.

At the end of the evening, Moses and Ali offered guests two thoughtful favors: Herb-infused honey and rosemary sea salt, both made by the bride!

"Just have run planning your wedding and don't feel like you have to follow the rules if it's not your personality," Ali says. "Remember to take in every moment of the day and days leading up to it. It goes by so fast, so just be present and revel in the moment."

HUGE 'ARROW' REVEAL! Stephen Amell Posts Oliver and Felicity Wedding Photo, But Is It Real?

It's the moment Olicity fans have been waiting for, but we've been fooled before, so is it real?

Arrow is notorious for doing anything and everything to get fans off their scent, and everyone from the cast to the EP's are always in on it! Well, there is no exception to today's HUGE Arrow reveal, thanks to Stephen Amell and Arrow EP, Marc Guggenheim. The two posted a very spoiler-y photo of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his true love, Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett), all dressed in white and exchanging vows! YES! The photo is real, BUT is the wedding? Marc and Stephen simultaneously posted the photo with cryptic messages that basically said nothing and sent Olicity fans into a full on Twitter meltdown!

    Olicity fans be spiraling like....

    Here's a closer look...

That is a pretty dang huge spoiler for Arrow's lead actor and EP to just openly post on Twitter... So, hey, WHAT IS THE CATCH? There, obviously, has to be one. The show's stars and creator wouldn't ruin one of the most anticipated moments in the shows entire existence without a plan behind it...so let's dig in to the three, most likely, scenarios.

    1. It's a dream

Marc and Stephen are playing it off as if it's real, but really it's a dream sequence. The thing is, in the grave flashback, Felicity's ring finger is pointedly bare, so something isn't right. Perhaps when Felicity is getting her new spinal implant put in and under anesthesia, she dreams of what life can now be like. With her standing, in a wedding gown, marrying the love of her life. Then the audience is blindsided as she wakes up from surgery, no wedding. Just the sad reality of the lie Oliver told her to keep his son safe, and keep her out. Or maybe it's Oliver's dream, after Felicity give s him her ring back when she discovers the truth about his son. Darhk's plan worked, he successfully separated Oliver from everyone he loves, and Olicity fans will only have this photo and dream sequence to remember the good 'ol days.

    2. A secret, but real, wedding

Oliver and Felicity do as planned and have a quick, spur of the moment wedding. Felicity understands why Oliver lied about his son, forgives him, and joins him on his road to saving William. They are married without an audience, where no one can find them. Once it's done, Felicity takes off her ring, and puts it somewhere safe. Oliver and Felicity play that they've broken up, for good, and Felicity falls off of Darhk's radar. With Darhk no longer seeing Felicity as a tool to get to Oliver, Oliver doesn't have to worry about her safety, and can focus on saving his son. When Oliver can finally defeat Dahrk, Felicity and Oliver can share the good news, and be together in the light. The show has made it cle ar they make their own rules, comics aside, so, hey, it could happen!

    3. The wedding is after the grave flashback, when all is well

This, unfortunately, is the most unlikely scenario. Darhk is defeated, Felicity has forgiven Oliver, William is safe, and Felicity's implant worked, and she can walk again. Now, the two lovebirds can finally say I Do. It's that simple, and we get the sunset ending we got last year, but with a ring on it. I'm not betting on this one, though, with a major death in the group, I could see Oliver and Felicity eloping (which the photo suggests a bit) as to not disrupt everyone's mourning. What makes you want to not waste another moment not being married to your true love? Losing someone close to you. So hey, ya never know.

Also, sidenote, Oliver asks Felicity if she's OK first, heavily suggesting the person in the grave is someone Felicity is closer to than him. My call? Mama Smoak.

    yes, I'm a Celtics fan

No matter how this ph oto ends up playing out on the show, it's a huge spoiler regardless, especially for the cast and creators to post! The photo was released purposefully, and with a detailed gameplan that I'm dying to know! We've learned the hard way that while many things on Arrow do play out as you expected them to, it's the things that don't that keep the show alive and kick-ass!

Watch the latest trailer for Arrow: Taken now!

Special thanks to Rose Moore and Sarah Belmont who got my mind churning on all of this!

'Arrow' airs Wednesdays on the CW at 8/7c!

How much does the average wedding cost?

Your wedding day creates memories that last a lifetime. Unfortunately, those memories often come at a high price, and that price is on the rise. The average wedding cost has grown significantly in recent years, making it more difficult for couples to save enough money to pay for their dream weddings.

To see if there's a way around spending too much on your wedding day — without sacrificing what's important to you — we provide this breakdown of the average cost of a wedding, and what exactly goes into that amount.

    Average Wedding Cost: $31,213

If you and your significant other announced your engagement and are now preparing to tally the overall cost of your wedding, you might be shocked by the fact that the average cost of a wedding in the U.S. is equal to that of a brand-new car or a hefty down payment on a house.

According to a study conducted by The Knot, the average wedding cost about $31,213 in 2014, up from $29,858 in 2013. Despite the higher cost for weddings, however, couples are inviting fewer guests. In 2014, the average wedding had 136 guests, down from 149 in 2009.

Here's how much you can expect to spend on your wedding based on the number of guests you invite:

    Costs of a Typical Wedding

The truth is, a wedding doesn't need to cost anywhere near $31,213 -- a couple can cut wedding costs and still celebrate their nuptials in style. Here's how.

With the average cost of a wedding estimated in the tens-of-thousands, here's a look at typical costs couples incur according to The Knot. Keep in mind these costs assume a wedding with 100 guests:

Related: 8 Tips for Haggling With Wedding Vendors

Some people prefer to hire a professional wedding planner to handle the details of the event. When you factor in that wedding planner cost, your total spend will go up by another $1,973 on average.

Other items not mentioned in the list but that are not necessarily vital to a wedding include a videographer, rental car or limo, hair and makeup services, bridal shower, bachelor party and wedding favors.

A typical wedding encompasses a broad range of costs, depending on your preferences. However, just sticking to the low end of expenditures can get you a nice wedding that includes a lot of the major elements, most important being great food and music.

Cheapest and Most Expensive Places to Get Married

The cost for each element of a wedding varies significantly depending on factors like location, the time of year you're getting married, and how far in advance you plan. Here's a look at the most expensive cities and the cheapest states to get married in the U.S.

How to Create a Wedding Budget for a Low-Cost Wedding

The first step in preparing for your wedding is actually setting up a wedding budget based on the number of people you plan to invite and the money you and your partner can save. The wedding budget should list must-haves along with a separate section for nice-to-have options — components that can be easily eliminated if they don't fit within your budget.

Next, call around to price everything from venues for the reception down to the cake and flowers. By acquiring estimates, you can quickly determine what's not necessary for your wedding. If you find some costs are too high, but you don't want to eliminate certain pieces of the puzzle, consider the following:

    Send Out Electronic Wedding Invitations

Save some cash with eco-friendly save-the-date notices and invitations. There are a variety of designs and styles to choose from, so you can find something that suits your wedding. Beyond the classic Evite, sites like Greenvelope, Paperless Post and Punchbowl offer a great selection of electronic invitations — many of which are free.

Get Married on Thursday, Friday or Sunday

Saturday is the most popular day of the week for weddings, so venues charge a premium for that day. Hold your event on a weekday or a Sunday and you could snag your top-choice venue for much less money.

Have a Wedding in the Park

Many city parks allow people to have private gatherings at low costs, and sometimes for free — but scope out the area first to make sure it's spacious and suitable for well-dressed guests. You can go big on this idea while sticking to a small budget by considering national parks like the National Estuarine Research Reserves on the coasts. Many allow you to have your wedding on site for a small fee. For a special event in a natural setting, these reserves offer an unusual, low-cost option — and one that's beautiful to boot, certified financial planner Rebecca Schreiber of Pure Financial Education said.

Host the Reception at a Community Center

Many church basements are accustomed to holding large parties for dining functions. If you chose a church for your ceremony, you might be able to use the basement afterward to lower your costs. Community centers can also be a budget-friendly option. You won't have to skimp on style, depending on how you decorate and set up the venue, and you might be able to have the ceremony there, too.

    Shop Discount Wedding Gowns

If borrowing a gown is not an option, there are other routes you can take to beat the average wedding dress cost. Many wedding shops offer annual sales on gowns that can drop the cost as low as $100. Shop early and find a gown within your price range you're sure to love. If having a designer gown is a priority for you, check out options like Rent the Runway, which, for reasonable prices, rents out dresses that would normally cost thousands of dollars.

    Have Friends Take Photos

Instead of hiring a professional, cut the cost of a wedding photographer by asking a talented friend to take pictures and record video of the wedding and reception.

    Rent a Sound System

Rather than hire a traditional wedding DJ, rent or find a quality sound system and hook up an iPod to play hours of great music.

    Eliminate the Wedding Party

While most wedding party members have to pay for their own outfits, many brides and grooms still chip in for accessories and gifts. To cut costs (and headaches) associated with bridesmaids, groomsmen and ushers, eliminate the wedding rehearsal and dinner, or skip out on having a wedding party altogether.

Buy Low-Cost Invites, Table Decor and More

Consider purchasing table arrangements and more from budget stores. If electronic invitations aren't your style or if sending handwritten thank-you notes after the wedding is important to you, you can look for invitations or cards at the same kinds of stores.

    Dodge the Sit-Down Dinner

"The number-one tip for saving on your wedding is not serving a sit-down meal," said Sara Margulis, founder and CEO of Honeyfund. Save a large portion of your food budget by reaching out to close family and friends and requesting they bring food (home cooked or store bought) to your affair in lieu of buying wedding gifts. This is an especially great option if you're close friends with a talented chef or baker. Another option is to put a fun, casual twist on the usual wedding fare by hiring a food truck to serve your party.

    Ask a Friend to Officiate

Rather than hire someone to officiate your wedding, consider asking your own church pastor, who will likely be happy to take the job for free. You can thank him or her with a nice gift. You could also ask a friend to be ordained for your wedding and to officiate, in lieu of a physical wedding gift.

    Trim Your Wedding Flowers Cost

Consider cutting your wedding-flowers cost by only placing flowers in key areas where photos will be taken. If your wedding party will carry flowers, consider putting those bouquets on double duty as centerpieces during the reception.

    Be Prepared to Negotiate

For every vendor you work with, brace yourself for negotiation. "Get ready to haggle," money-saving expert Andrea Woroch said. "Don't let your vendors know that they are your top choice, and ask if they can offer you a better rate or add value with free extras to make their offer a better value."

For her own wedding, she said, "My live band gave me $100 off the dinner music hour simply because I asked. The venue coordinator was able to throw in a free champagne toast and the hotel manager cut me a break on the cost of the hotel nights."

Even in high-cost cities like New York or Los Angeles, it's likely that you know people who have found ways to have a fantastic, low-cost wedding with absolutely no regrets. Margulis shared that she once attended a wedding that cost less than $1,500. "A public space for the ceremony, a small guest list and Mexican catering truck made it happen," she said.

Another option to consider is taking a vacation alone as husband and wife, and having the wedding and honeymoon in one trip. Plan your wedding during an off-peak season to save more. And if you want a really low-cost wedding, you can opt for a courthouse or home wedding with a few friends and family.

How Much Should Your Wedding Cost?

So, how much does a wedding cost? Regardless of figures and averages, keep in mind that you're in charge of how much you spend. You should feel free to spend any amount you want for your wedding as long as you can afford it; it's your big day and it should be as lavish as you desire.

However, if you want to cut corners on the cost of marrying the love of your life — or simply aren't interested in the frills of an extravagant wedding — you can still have a beautiful event within a modest wedding budget.

Real Wedding: Anna Jedrey & Hudson Evei

June 20, 2015Arlington Street Church and the Four Seasons HotelBoston, Massachusetts

Photo by Zev Fi sher Photography

    THE STORY

Hudson Evei knew exactly how to beat the Monday blues. On a quiet evening in January 2014, Hudson proposed to his longtime girlfriend Anna Jedrey during a romantic dinner at Top of the Hub. They had been dating for five years before Hudson proposed 52 stories above Boston's Back Bay. As he dropped to one knee just before the dessert course, she said "yes."

The wedding also took place in Boston—fitting for Anna and Hudson, who each have deep roots in Massachusetts. About 175 of the couple's closest family and friends filed into their ceremony at Arlington Street Church and attended the reception at the Four Seasons. Most of the wedding planning should be credited to Anna and her mom. With detail-oriented organizational skills and excitement brewing, the duo found checking tasks off the pre-wedding to-do list to be a piece of cake.

"I always knew I wanted to get married, but I never had a picture in my mind, so it all sort of just came together," Anna says. "It was very nice because it was a reflection of both Hudson and me rather than just a vision from when I was a little kid."

The couple first met through mutual friends one evening in August 2007. They went through a few trials as a couple, particularly in 2010 when Hudson shipped off to Hanover, New Hampshire, to complete an MBA in business at Dartmouth College. They made long distance work by trying to see each other every weekend.

"It was tough being apart for two years, especially so early on in our relationship," Anna says. "But before Hudson left, I remember my dad telling me that if it was meant to be, it would be, and he was right."

    THE DETAILS

Before their own celebration, Hudson and Anna attended at least twenty weddings together. The first wedding they attended as a couple was in June 20, 2009, the same day they got married in 2015.

"We wanted to be in a city where we had strong ties, and we wanted to be able to revisit the memories we made on a frequent basis," Hudson says of the couple's decision to wed in Boston.

Harley is a Coton de Tulear and stood by Hudson as he got ready with his groomsmen. "I actually think [Hudson] may have been a little scared of dogs, but Harley turned him around and now Hudson is a dog lover," Anna says.

Hudson gifted his groomsmen teal Hermes ties to match Anna's bridesmaids' dresses. He says, "I wanted to get them something really nice, something that they could use later on, and something that could be a keepsake from that special day."

After binging TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress," Anna and her mom booked an appointment at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City. "It wasn't anything that I was looking for, it was completely opposite of whatever I thought I was going to wear, but I just felt like a princess in it, so I knew it was the right one," Anna says of her wedding gown.

The first look took place on the grand staircase of the Four Seasons, overlooking the Public Garden. "It felt like a fairy tale and it was one of the few moments during the day when all chaos around us seemed to disappear," Anna says.

Despite being a busy and packed Saturday afternoon, the photo shoot went perfectly. "The pictures came out looking like we were the only ones there," Hudson says.

The wedding ceremony took place in Arlington Street Church. The couple's reverend was one of Hudson's teachers from middle school. "It was important to make the day as personal as can be by having familiar faces in different roles," Hudson says.

Purple flower arrangements filled the reception room. The purple and teal color scheme was inspired by peacocks that Hudson and Anna stumbled upon while wandering through botanical gardens during a family vacation to Portugal.

Mr. and Mrs. Evei had their first dance to "Come Rain or Come Shine" by Ray Charles. "We wanted something more classic, something that would stick with us forever," Hudson says.
