An Indian Wedding in Mexico by Jonathan Cossu

"The chemistry and love they have for each other is simply beautiful."

Indian couple, Nirali and Nimeet, have memories to cherish forever thanks to amazing wedding photography by Jonathan Cossu.

The happy couple chose to tie the knot in hot-spot destination, Cancun, in the heart of Mexico in February 2016.

Destination wedding photographer Jonathan Cossu stunningly captured every exquisite moment of the pair's special three-day celebrations, from their getting-ready-preparations, to the lively reception afterwards.

Incorporating traditional Hindu customs, the Moon Palace Hotel in Cancun held host to this spectacular occasion, which saw the couple surrounded by family and friends watching them seal the deal.

The beautiful bride, Nirali, describes her the reasoning behind her special three-day trip:

"My husband and I really just wanted to have a casual, relaxing wedding. Indian weddings can be very tiring, involved week-long affairs, and we wanted our guests to treat their time in Mexico like a vacation, first and foremost.

"We spread our events out over three days and each event was roughly three hours, which allowed our guests to enjoy the downtime," Nirali explains.

The couple had a welcome/Mehndi party with a Mexican theme, with a Mariachi band providing great music to entertain the guests whilst they entered and mingled.

Maracas were laid on the tables which doubled up as party favours for the guests to take home with them at the end of the day.

Alongside this, a Mehndi artist completed henna patterns for guests as the night went on.

Nirali also speaks out about her wedding dress choice and inspiration:

"My wedding dress was inspired by Indian maharanis (princesses) of the past. It was deep red raw silk traditional outfit accentuated with antique gold beading and pearls, complemented with cream colored draping.

"I wanted a more understanding elegance to match the beach side wedding venue," she says.

For her reception outfit, Nirali described this choice as a 'wild card', having to allow her family and friends to make the decision for her.

Eventually, a cap-sleeve hot pink gown paired with an ombre skirt in blending cream and a rose pink was chosen, creating a timeless look for the beautiful bride.

Fire dancers led the happy couple out during their introduction at the reception, alongside performing their cake cutting.

Nirali reveals her favourite part of the day:

"My favorite part of the day was sitting in our mandap (wedding structure) out on the sand and looking out at our guests.

"I paused for a minute while the ceremony was going on to take it all in. The sun shining and the white drapery was flapping in the wind.

"Everyone was smiling and my husband and I were just so thrilled to have the most important people in our lives there."

The photography of this beautiful wedding perfectly expresses both the beauty of the couple, and the immensity of their Mexican surroundings. The beaches and sunshine are seen throughout the snaps, using the location delicately to their advantage.

The contrast between the attire and the views entwines within the photographs to create a beautiful set of snaps, ones that the couple will cherish forever.

The extremely talented Jonathan Cossu commented on the wedding, saying: "Nirali and Nimeet's wedding was absolutely beautiful!

"Working with these two was very easy. She couldn't stop smiling and he's a bit more shy but the chemistry and love they have for each other is simply beautiful."

It is clear that Jonathan has a keen eye to capture the incredible surroundings of Mexico without overshadowing the simple elegance of the couple.

The photographer who is originally from Italy explains:

"For me, photography is all about moments. The moments of joy, laughter, looks, tears.

"The moment of seeing raw emotions in front of me and being able to capture them inside my camera and turn them into breathtaking images of love.

"I'm always looking to give memories that reflect exactly how you felt before, during and after your big 'I Do'."
